I never served myself, but my brother, father, grandfathers and great-grandfathers have all served our country.<\/p>\n<p>The image to the right is my maternal great-grandfather during WWI.<\/p>\n<p>As an auntie of two nieces whose father is active duty, I see the impact having a parent deployed has on children. We all worry, but the things those kids miss out on with their father can be tough to watch&#8230; and he&#8217;s still around. My heart aches for the families of those men and women who haven&#8217;t been so lucky.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you to the men and women who selflessly serve our country.
