{"id":1956,"date":"2014-06-16T01:30:44","date_gmt":"2014-06-16T05:30:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/amykazor.com\/?p=1956"},"modified":"2024-05-16T11:48:39","modified_gmt":"2024-05-16T15:48:39","slug":"virtual-assistance-not-accounting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/amyhood.biz\/site\/virtual-assistance-not-accounting\/","title":{"rendered":"My Virtual Assistance Practice Does NOT Do Accounting!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"Last week's post\" href=\"http:\/\/faithfilledannualplanning.com\/site\/coaching\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Last week <\/a>I wrote about the team I learned to create during\u00a0my training at\u00a0<a title=\"AssistU\" href=\"http:\/\/www.assistu.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AssistU.<\/a>\u00a0My accountant, attorney, insurance agent, IT specialist, and business coach are at the core of my\u00a0team.\u00a0This week I would like to say thanks to my accountants, tax attorneys, and bookkeeping team, <a title=\"The Accounting Office\" href=\"http:\/\/www.accountingofficeinc.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Accounting Office<\/a> right here in Northville, Michigan.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-1959\" src=\"http:\/\/faithfilledannualplanning.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/TAO-300x118.jpg\" alt=\"The Accounting Office\" width=\"300\" height=\"118\" srcset=\"https:\/\/amyhood.biz\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/TAO-300x118.jpg 300w, https:\/\/amyhood.biz\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/TAO-150x59.jpg 150w, https:\/\/amyhood.biz\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/TAO.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The team starts by handling all of my bookkeeping. I send my own invoices and manage payment from my clients, but literally the team does the rest. I get a monthly packet from them with\u00a0accurate financial statements that go beyond a\u00a0balance sheet and income statement. I get a view of my cash flow, break-even point, expenses (and what I can do to improve things) and get to see it in\u00a0charts and graphs, which is important to a visual person like me!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Could I do all of this myself? Maybe. Quickbooks makes a lot possible. But eeeewie! I hate this stuff. I mean, I need to know\u00a0what is going on, but balancing my checkbook is about as close as I want to come to it. I\u00a0enjoy doing\u00a0other things so much more! Why would I spend my time (which would take me WAY longer than it takes them) and energy on work I don&#8217;t love if there is someone out there who loves to do it?<\/p>\n<p>This is another way I keep my business humming along and myself happy. Again, it&#8217;s a wash&#8230; I pay someone to do work I don&#8217;t love. But, I get to do work I adore, build relationships I cherish with people I admire and respect, and who are changing lives out in the world, instead of dealing with my books and taxes. To me, that&#8217;s a pretty sweet deal!<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"The Accounting Office\" href=\"http:\/\/www.accountingofficeinc.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Accounting Office<\/a>\u00a0just reached out to me to schedule our June meeting. I go into the office and sit down with Linda, and go through things with her. She talks to me about tax planning, what changes I need to make now so that there are no surprises at year end, what I could be doing differently from a tax perspective, and how to make my money go farther. I don&#8217;t find out in January when my March return is being prepared, we meet in June and November to keep me on track.<\/p>\n<p>We have established a relationship, built on trust, that I never imagined. I know I can reach out the the team and get an answer at any time to any question. The group has become a vital and valued part of my team. I know I am operating effectively and efficiently because of the insight they provide.<\/p>\n<p>So, this week, a big thank you to the amazing team at <a title=\"The Accounting Office\" href=\"http:\/\/www.accountingofficeinc.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Accounting Office<\/a>.
