As Virtual Assistants, we are constantly learning, innovating, and growing… changing our lives and the lives of our clients through the work we do in our businesses.
Visionaries who dreamt of changing the world like Edison, Ford, and the Wright brothers are featured at The Henry Ford museum in Dearborn. It is one of the reasons we thought it would make a great location for the 2015 AssistU Homecoming. Ford knew there was a difference between being in a community and being a part of it. He endeavored to be a part of it, and we can connect with him as we walk the grounds he left behind.
“Social innovators challenge the way we think and how we view the world.”
Featuring ordinary people who do extraordinary things is a theme of the collections at The Henry Ford. John Burroughs went on luxury camping trips with Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, John Muir, Theodore Roosevelt, and Harvey Firestone. Talk about innovation through nature!
Thomas Edison recorded sound and played it back again for the very first time. He developed many devices that greatly influenced life around the world, including the phonograph, the motion picture camera, and a long-lasting, practical and dependable electric light bulb. Take another look at your smartphone, darling… it all started right here.
Igor Sikorsky changed aviation when he built the first successful single-rotor helicopter in 1943 on the lawn of the Henry Ford in Dearborn, MI. Inspired yet?
Ordinary people who have accomplished extraordinary things and not all innovators are inventors. Rosa Parks changed the world of race relations forever. A small thing that eventually led to the repeal of segregation on buses. The actual bus is here in Dearborn Michigan!
So much about the ordinary people who have accomplished extraordinary things can connect us.
Henry Ford believed in community, and sharing the legacy of these visionaries. Recording and sharing their history was extremely important to him. Over 200 acres of innovation, 300 years of history, and 26 million artifacts await in this mind-blowing cultural institution. Each time I take a visitor, they are overwhelmed by their experience at the museum and the village.
I believe that each AssistU VA will share that same experience at Homecoming 2015. I am excited to have them come and experience the history, and connect with what moves them. Welcome to Pure Michigan, AssistU VAs!
SOOOO excited to visit Michigan and visit with my AssistU VA peeps!!
Soooooo excited you are coming! Hugs soon!
