I thought it might be nice to share my 2015 Vision Board with you since I just completed it over the weekend. Vision boarding is part of my Faith-Filled Annual Planning Experience and I create a vision board every year. Some years it has been life focused, others intention focused. This year I focused on just the coming 12 months. January – December 2015.
A vision board is as simple as a piece of paper with pictures on it. Some people draw things by hand, some add stickers and sparkles. Most often people cut out magazine images or print images from the Internet and apply them to the paper.
What’s the purpose of a vision board?
It’s meant to help bring your intentions, dreams and aspirations to life.
- Who do you want to be?
- What do you want your year to look like?
- What things do you want to be doing?
It’s an opportunity to create a vision of your dreams on paper as a means of bringing them more tangibly into your life; a sort-of focal point for your vision.
The images you choose don’t have to be literal. Abstract is okay. It helps, though, to pay attention to how the images make you feel. If the image gives you a good, safe feeling and is in line with your intention, that is a good one to choose… even if it doesn’t make sense to anyone else.
If you want one of your images to represent love but you don’t feel love when you look at it, it’s not the right one for you. Try not to force things. Find images that speak to you and let things flow. The feelings the images give to you are more important than the images themselves. It’s about what feels real to you.
I have a life board to encompass my four life intentions. When you look at it you might not see “protect my earthly body so that I am able to do God’s work from a place of health and strength” but I do. That is all that is important to me!
As I approached 2015, I only had a few specific things in mind. My roles. As I create my short-term intentions over the next few weeks I will be focusing on my roles. I have seven of them that I will be creating intentions for this year.
Healthy Woman (Physical/Spiritual)
Family Stone (Social)
Wealth Wizard (Mental)
Helpmate (Social)
Good-Life Creator (Social/Spiritual)
World-Class VA (Mental)
Extraordinary Entrepreneur (Mental)
I set the intention with my board to choose one image for each role for 2015, one image that spoke deeply to me. This is the result.
Do you create a vision board? What’s your focus this time?
